Youth Development Counselors/Activity Instructors
RISING COLLEGE SOPHOMORE
Youth Development Counselors are the primary caregivers for each camper. They will assist in the direction, supervision, and organization of campers in their cabin, within activities, and throughout the camp in order to meet the intended camper outcomes. Counselors will be assigned to a cabin in one of three areas: Hillside (ages 5-8), Lakeside (ages 9-11) or Hilltop (ages 12-16). The counselor is also responsible for planning, teaching, coordinating, and carrying out activities and guiding campers in their personal growth and daily living skills. They will teach one or more general or special skills with other members of the camp staff. Here are a few of the specialized activities taught here at Camp Ton-A-Wandah.
First year youth development counselors are expected to work a full summer season (late-May through early-August).
